Abstract
ABSTRAK Google adalah mesin pencari di internet yang paling popul ar, khususnya mesin pencari informasi yang paling banyak diminati oleh berjuta-juta orang diseluruh Indonesia, dan google sampai sekarang pun masih tetap mempertahankan eksistensinya sebagai mesin pencari (search engine) yang paling banyak diminati oleh masyarakat. Hal ini disebabkan google mampu memberi informasi dengan cepat dan mudah oleh pengguna, dib andingkan dengan media lain. Fasilitas google ini memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat yaitu mencari be rita atau informasi yang dibutuhkan dengan cara instan. Salah satu pemakai google yang aktif yaitu pada kalangan mahasiswa, google sangat berperan penting pada peyelesaian tugas-tugas perkuliahan mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh penggunaan google terhadap tingkat kepuasan memperoleh kebutuhan informasi di kalangan mahasisw a Komunikasi UPN 2009. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode survai yang mengambil sampel 82 responden da ri 428 mahasiswa Komunikasi UPN Yogyakarta angkatan 2009. Teknik ana lisis data yang dipakai adalah analisis korelasi product moment dan Regresi Linear Sederhana dengan program SPSS V.13.0 for windows . Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara penggunaan google terhadap tingkat kepuasan memperoleh informasi pada mahasiswa Komunikasi UPN Yogyakarta sebesar -0,661 atau - 66,1%. Selain itu berdasarkan hasil analisis regres i menyebutkan bahwa hipotesis dapat diterima karena nilai r signifikan p > 0,05 ( 0,000 > 0,05), artinya terdapat hubungan yang negatif dan signifikan antara penggun aan google terhadap tingkat kepuasan memeproleh kebutuhan informasi pada mahasi swa Komunikasi UPN Yogyakarta. Dengan nilai t hitung sebesar 12,696 ma ka ada pengaruh antara penggunaan google terhadap tingkat kebuasan memperoleh kebutuhan inf ormasi pada mahasiswa, sehingga semakin tinggi penggunaan google , semakin rendah tingkat kepuasan memperoleh kebutuhan informasi pad a mahasiswa. Dengan nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,437 menunjukan bahw a menurunnya variabel tingkat kepuasan memperoleh kebutuhan informasi dip engaruhi oleh meningkatnya variabel penggunaan google sebesar 43,7% dan sisanya 56,3% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain, misalnya: penggunaan media lain, hubungan sosial, dan peran orang tua. This is because google provide information quickly and easily using on appea with the other media as yahoo , wikipedia and etc. This facility meets the needs of the community on google i.e. find information instanly one of the users who are active ini google among college students. They need purpose of this study was to determine influnce the use of google as a search tool to read information on the interest among the students of communication UP N 2009 the type of research conducted in quantitative method uses of survey res pondents who took the sample of 82 students UPN of communication Yogyakarta 2009 data analysis technique used is the product moment correlation analysis and simple linear regression with SPSS v.13.0 for windows. The results showed that th ere was a link between the use of google’s interest in level of information integrity on UPN Yogyakarta for communication students abaout -0,661% or -661% besi des based on the result analysis reggresion mention that hypthosts acceptab le because value r significant p > 0,05 (0,000 > 0,05) it means there is a negativ e and significant relationship among the google users to students level of information integrity i n the UPN with a value t count of 12696 then there is the influenc e of the use of google’s level of information students so the higher the use of google is getting law level of information stidents by the value of coefficient de terminant 0,437 indicates that the decrease in variable level of information integ rity influence by the increasing use of variables for google abaout 43,7% and the rest 56,3% influence by other factors for example the use of other media outlets, social relations and the role parents.
