Abstract
Nasionalisme yang terkandung di dalam Pancasila menjadi landasan masyarakat Indonesia sejak dulu kala. Namun, sekarang semangat kebangsaan jarang diperlihatkan untuk tujuan membangun kebersamaan dan keutuhan Indonesia. Nasionalisme mulai terkikis karena khalayak tidak menjadikan Pancasila sebagai pedoman hidup. Dalam penelitian ini objek yang diteliti merupakan katalog pameran foto jurnalistik “Di Mana Garuda” dengan tujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengetahui nilai-nilai nasionalisme yang terkandung di dalamnya sehingga teori yang digunakan yaitu metode semiotika dari Roland Barthes untuk melihat makna denotasi dan konotasi dalam lima foto katalog “Di Mana Garuda”. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan metode semiotika. Dengan memperhatikan relasi tanda pada lima foto, tampak nilai nasionalisme yang terkandung di dalam katalog “Di Mana Garuda”. Nilai-nilai nasionalisme tersebut yaitu religius (patuh terhadap ajaran agama), tenggang rasa, persamaan derajat, tidak diskriminatif, gotong royong, kekeluargaan, bersikap adil, dan tolong menolong. Nilai-nilai nasionalisme ini akan tampak ketika khalayak menelaah lebih jauh serta memahami pesan dalam foto-foto tersebut. PFI Yogyakarta lewat pameran foto jurnalistik ingin menyadarkan arti penting nasionalisme yang selama ini mulai terkikis di tengah masyarakat. Kata kunci: Fotografi Jurnalistik, Semiotika, Nilai Nasionalisme, PFI Yogyakarta ABSTRACT Nationalism that is contained in Pancasila has become the foundation of Indonesian society since long ago. But now the spirit of nationalism is rarely shown for the purpose of establishing togetherness and the wholeness of Indonesia. Nationalism start eroded because people do not make Pancasila as life guidance anymore. The object in this mini thesis is a catalog of photo exhibition journalism called "Di Mana Garuda" which the goal is to identify and know the values of nationalism contained in it, so the author used semiotics theory of Roland Barthes to see the meaning of denotation and connotation in five photos of catalog "Di Mana Garuda". The type of this research is qualitative method research with semiotic method approach. Considering the relation of marks on the five photographs, the nationalism value is contained in the "Where Garuda" catalog. The values of nationalism are religious (obedient to religion), tolerance, equality, non-discrimination, mutual cooperation, kinship, fairness, and helping each other. The values of this nationalism will appear when the audience examines further and understands the messages in the photographs. PFI Yogyakarta through photojournalism exhibition want to realize the importance of nationalism that has been eroded in Indonesian society.
