Abstract
Indonesia merupakan negara yang masuk ke dalam sepuluh besar negara terkorup di seluruh dunia. Untuk menekan tingkat praktek korupsi, pemerintah membentuk Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK). Dalam prakteknya, KPK bekerja sama dengan institusi kepolisian untuk melaksanakan tugasnya. Pada pertengahan tahun 2010 berita mengenai adanya makelar kasus di kepolisian menjadi headline berbagai media massa. Media mengkonstruksi berita sekaligus mengkonstruksi citra dari objek berita. Penelitian ini akan dilakukan untuk menganalisis citra Polri yang muncul dari pembingkaian berita yang dilakukan oleh harian Kompas selama periode 15 Maret – 15 April 2010. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis framing model William A. Gamson dan Andre Modigliani. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam berita makelar kasus di harian Kompas, citra Polri yang muncul dari konstruksi berita Kompas cenderung negatif. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh faktor ekstra media, yakni narasumber. Jumlah narasumber yang kontra terhadap Polri lebih banyak daripada jumlah narasumber yang bersikap pro. Hal ini yang kemudian menghasilkan konstruksi berita yang negatif. Citra yang dapat ditemukan dalam konstruksi berita Kompas antara lain pemimpin Polri tidak tegas, Polri kurang fair dalam menangani kasus dan Polri hendak membungkam Susno Indonesia was included on the top ten of the most corrupt country in the world by the research of Political and Economis Risk Consultancy (PERC) on 2011. To reduced the number of corruption case, the government made a policy to established the Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK). KPK is a commission that its principal duties is to fight againts the corruption practices in every level of the government. Practically, KPK worked together with the Indonesian Police Departement to carry out its duties. Nonetheless, in the middle of the 2010 the public was being surprised by the confession of Komjend. Pol Susno Duadji, he testified that there is any member of police department who works as a makelar kasus. This fact is got an great exposure from the media. Media constructed this reality and also constructed the image of the police force. In this study, the researcher done analysis about the image of the police force that emerged from the frame news of Kompas on 15th March – 15th April period. The study utilized framing analysis from William A. Gamson and Andrea Modigliani model. Based on the result of this study, conclused that from the news framing that Kompas built, the police images is got worse. This is caused by the extra media level, which is resuorce persons and their statement.
