Abstract
Di Yogyakarta pada tanggal 1 sampai 2 Juli 2011 yang lalu diadakan event Festival Tattoo Istimewa. Pada salah satu sesi dari acara tersebut adalah tato gratis lambang keraton Yogyakarta (hobo) yang dimaksudkan untuk menyampaikan aspirasi menolak pencabutan status keistimewaan Yogyakarta, acara itu berlangsung di Yogyakarta yang pada saat itu sedang marak isu tentang pencabutan status keistimewaan Yogyakarta, banyak masyarakat yang antusias menyambut acara tersebut dan bersedia menjadi peserta dalam tato gratis tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana tato hobo tersebut digunakan dan dipahami sebagai media komunikasi penolakan pencabutan status keistimewaan Yogyakarta, selain itu juga apa yang menjadi motivasi para peserta tersebut dalam mengikuti sesi acara tato gratis tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif eksploratory. Teknik pengumpulan data diperloeh peneliti dari wawancara, dokumentasi, studi kepustakaan, dan internet searching. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tato lambang hobo yang sudah menempel pada tubuh para peserta merupakan bentuk totalitas kecintaan dan dukungan kepada Yogyakarta. Pada kenyataannya tato lambang hobo yang dimaksudkan sebagai media komunikasi penyampaian aspirasi penolakan pencabutan status keistimewaan Yogyakarta tidak dapat tersampaikan secara sempurna karena orang yang melihat tato tersebut hanya mempersepsinya sebagai tato-tato pada umumnya. In Yogyakarta on March 1 until July 2, 2011 held Festival Tattoo Istimewa event. At one of the sessions of the event is free tattoo symbol Keraton Yogyakarta (hobo) that is intended to convey the aspirations reject privilege revocation status of Yogyakarta, which incidentally at the time when the event was held in Yogyakarta evolving issues of revocation of the privilege status of Yogyakarta, many people who enthusiastically welcomed the event and are willing to be a participant in the free tattoo. Purpose of this study was to determine how the hobo tattoo is used and understood as a media communications for rejection privilege revocation status of Yogyakarta, moreover also what motivation of the participants be following free tattoos event. The method used in this study is qualitative research method exploratory. Techniques of data collection obtained by researcher from interviewing, documentation, library research, and internet searching. The results showed the hobo symbol tattoos that are attached to the bodies of the participants is a form of the totality of love and resource persons support to Yogyakarta. In fact tattoo symbol hobo that is intended as a communication media for aspiration rejection revocation privilege status for Yogyakarta can not be delivered completely, because people who see these tattoos just have perception like tattoos in general
