Abstract

Human trafficking is global problem. Nearly every country in the world is affected by human trafficking, as a point of origin, transit or destination. According to Trafficking in Person Report 2012; Iran has been persumed as source, transit and destination country for women and children that are trafficked for the purpose of sexual exploitation and involuntary servitude. Most of trafficked victims are women and girls. Iranian women and girls are purportedly subjected to sex trafficking in Iran, as well as in Pakistan, the Persian Gulf and Europe. According to some estimates, there are 10-15 underages girl in Iran have trafficked abroad in daily basis. Vulnerable people who live in such as those of conflict areas or economically poor areas are more commonly subjected to human trafficking. Some of victims are unwittingly ensnared by human traffickers, and the others are desperate to escape their circumstances and then find themselves enslaved in a worse situation. The number of trafficking victims is significantly increase every year and Human trafficking problem in Iran is going worst because Iran’s governments don’t have significant effort to combat human trafficking.
