Abstract
This thesis aims to analyze the policy of Indonesia’s air defense in his air power to
deal with the balance of power in Southeast Asia during the period 1998-2001.
Through the analysis of various documents, books, journals and other sources, the
authors argue that in the strength of the title policy is supported by the existence
of the modernization of the main armament systems and tools of strategic industry
development in support of the current technological development as well as the
readiness of human resource development in the field of Defense the country.

boost air power bullying in Southeast Asia. This policy was important considering
that countries in the Southeast Asian region potentially to threaten security and
sovereignty Indonesia. A variety of offenses regions of the air by a plane foreign
and an increase in the force of air in Southeast Asia make Indonesia still need to
conduct a policy of minimum essential force in order to balance the force of air in
the southeast Asian region so that the achievement of regional stability in the area
of Southeastern Asia
