Abstract

U.S. makes Egypt as a strategic partner in the Middle East. Egypt has a strong political influence among other Arab States and has a potential maintaining political stability in the Middle East region and protect U.S. interests in the Middle East. Camp David agreement is the beginning of the establishment of special relation between the United States and Egypt. After the Arab Spring swept Egypt, Hosni Mubarak as a president of Egypt that comes from the military as well as right-handed of U.S. in the Middle East, stepped down. Then was replaced by Mohammed Morsi that comes from the Muslim Brotherhood. Substitution President of Egypt with different backgrounds does not necessarily change the relationship between U.S. and Egypt that have been established so far. U.S. still wants Egypt as a strategic partner in the Middle East. This could be seen by economic and political ties that tend to be stable. Keywords: U.S., Egypt, Middle East, Arab States, Camp David, Hosni Mubarak, Mohammad Morsi, Arab Spring, Muslim Brotherhood, Strategic Partner.
