Abstract
ABSTRAK Keberadaan gay disadari sebagai sebuah realita di dalam masyarakat dan menimbulkan berbagai macam reaksi. Beberapa alasan yang menyebabkan seseorang menjadi gay adalah biologis, psikologis maupun lingkungan. Gay adalah istilah untuk pria yang memiliki kecenderungan seksual kepada sesama pria. Ketika berkomunikasi dengan sesama gay, menggunakan gaya bahasa, nada bicara, bahasa tubuh yang sesuai dengan jiwa gay mereka. Hal ini berbeda ketika berkomunikasi dengan masyarakat umum, gay akan berusaha menutupi jiwa gay mereka dan berpura-pura menjadi lelaki normal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pola komunikasi gay dengan sesamanya, gay dengan masyarakat dan kesulitan yang dihadapi gay dalam berkomunikasi dengan masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi kasus deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi dan studi pustaka. Pengujian validitas data menggunakan triangulasi data, data yang diperoleh disesuaikan dengan sumber data lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat dua tipe pola komunikasi yang dilakukan antara kaum gay dan masyarakat. Pertama, gay terbuka yang tidak menutupi identitas gay dalam dirinya cenderung bersikap apa adanya karena merasa tidak ada yang perlu ditutup-tutupi dari dalam dirinya dan tetap menjadi dirinya sendiri. Kedua, gay tertutup yang menutupi jati dirinya sebagai seorang gay akan cenderung bersandiwara ketika berkomunikasi dengan masyarakat. Gay yang tertutup akan menjadi seorang aktor ketika mereka berkomunikasi dengan masyarakat umum. Mereka akan berpura-pura menjadi lelaki normal agar identitas gay dalam dirinya tidak terbongkar. ABSTRACT The existence of Gays is base of reality in the society that made a variety of reaction. Some reason that caused someone to become a Gays is depend of his biologic, psychology in spite of their environment. Gays is a term for a male who has a sexual tendency to male fellow. When communicated with the Gays fellow, they use the language style, speak tone, and the body language which appropriate with their Gays‘s soul. This things are so different when they are communicate with the general society, the Gays will efforts to covering up their Gays’s soul and act under the mask like a normal male. This research has an aim to knowing more about the pattern of gays communication with their fellow, Gays with the society and the difficulties of Gays that should be faced in the communicate with the society. The case study of thisresearch is used a descriptive qualitative theory. The roundup data have done through interview, observation, and study literature. The testing of data’s validation using a triangulation data, this data obtained with that appropriate with the other data sources. This research has a result that shown there are two types of communication patterns that used between the communities of Gays and with the Society. First, Gays who open air almost not covering up all of his identity, inclined to do whatever he want because he felt that there is nothing to covering up to become a Gays and always be their self. Second, the reclusive Gays who always covering up his identity would be inclined do an act when they communicate with the society. The reclusive Gays would be an actor when they are communicating with the general society. They will make as though to become a normal male in order to covering up their Gays identity in the public.
