Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas media relations Radio
Geronimo FM sebagai bagian dari strategi yang dilakukan dalam mendukung
kegiatan promosi dan marketing communicationsdengan menggunakan
pendekatan kualitatif, yaitu wawancara mendalam serta melakukan studi pustaka
seperti data yang didapatkan dari sumber literatur kepustakaan berupa buku, surat
kabar, artikel / tulisan pada media massa dan internet, foto dan
dokumen.Kesimpulan penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa PR Radio Geronimo
FM menyadari bahwa media merupakan hal yang sangat penting untuk dapat
menyebarluaskan informasi serta mendukung kegiatan on air dan off air Radio
Geronimo FM, sehingga dijadikan strategi dalam promosi dan kegiatan marketing
communications supaya sampai pada pendengar dan juga calon pengiklan atau
pengiklan. Dan hubungan dengan media tersebut dapat diupayakan melalui
aktivitas media relations yang dilakukan seperti pressrelease, konferensi pers,
press gathering, wawancara pers, media visit dan barter promo. PR juga telah
melakukan peran, fungsi serta tugasnya dalam upaya pencapaian promosi dan
kegiatan marketing communications untuk mendukung kegiatan on air dan off air
Radio Geronimo FM melalui aktivitas media relations tersebut dan berdampak
positif terhadap perkembangan perusahaan pada umumnya, dan secara khusus
dalam mendukung kegiatan on air dan off air di Radio Geronimo FM.

Competition is getting tougher business globally, it is expected that
companies such as Geronimo Radio Station to breakthroughs media relations via
several strategies appropriately in conveying information in promoting and
supporting on air and off air program of Geronimo Radio Station.
This thesis try to analize in descriptive way about media relations activity
to achieve publicity for supporting promotion and marketing communications on
air and off air program of Geronimo Radio Station by using qualitative approach
through in depth interview, and also doing literature study such as data obtained
from literature sources in form books, newspaper, article / posts on mass media
and internet, photos and document.
Conclusion of this thesis shows that Public Relations of Geronimo Radio
Station realize that media is a very important thing to dissemination information
and supporting on air and off air program of Geronimo Radio Station. And media
relations can be persued through media relations activities by Public Relations
Geronimo Radio Station such as press release, press conference, press gathering,
interview press, media visit and barter promotion. Public Relations also has done
the role, functions and duties well in supporting on air and off air program of
Geronimo Radio Stations through the media relations.
