Abstract

PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarasa Tbk is cement Industry Company . This company also operates limestone mine to get the raw materials to produce cement . The limestone mine is located in Palimanan, Cirebon, West Java. The mining system at this site uses surface mining and the method is quarry. Consequently, the mining activity is influence by rainfall. Some locations in quarry C and quarry D get wets and muddies. Based on the observations are found that the open channels have silted up and there are no open channels which protect these quarries from runoff. In addition, the settling ponds of quarry C and quarry D are dredged conditionally. Based on the calculation, the value of plan runoff is 140,29 mm/day and the intensit y is 48,64 mm/hour. The Catchment Area (DTH) is divided into 5 areas. The width of DTH 1 is 0,590293 km 2 , DTH II 0,138816 km 2 , DTH III is 0,041328 km 2 , DTH IV is 0,053771 km 2 , DTH V is 0,167575 km 2 . Debit on quarry C is 7,9829 m 3 /second, and quarry D is 1,5162 m 3 /second. Thus, it is necessary to redesign the open channels for bending the runoff. The open channels which recommended are trapezium model. The geometry to redesign open channel I is d = 1,67m b = 2,2m B = 4,2 h=1,9m a =2,22M ; open channel is II d = 0,8m b= 1,1m B=2m h= 0,9 m a = 1,06m ; open channel III is d = 1,88m b = 2,4m B =4,67m h = 2,17m a = 2,49 m ; open channel is IV d = 1,07m b = 1,42m B =2,66 m h = 1,23 m a= 1,42m. Goa Dalem ponds has to dredge every 476 days, settling ponds I every 378 days, settling ponds II every 978 days and settling ponds III every 839 days. Based on the research at settling ponds, the times to settle is faster than the times to exit from the settling ponds. In other words, the settling ponds are quite well. Hopefully, this research can help the company to bend the runoff in quarry C and quarry D of PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarasa Palimanan Tbk. As a result, the mining activities can be more optimize.
