Abstract
Boko Haram group conducted a series of acts of vandalism in the form of state facilities, attacks on police stations and military bases. Boko Haram group refuses to recognize the government of Nigeria and continue to conflict with the government. Not only with the government, in its action group Boko Haram have also targeted civilians. Suicide bombings, assassinations, kidnappings, and other violent acts. Boko Haram group is growing rapidly. On the other hand acts of violence committed by the Nigerian police and military in order to eradicate the group Boko Haram even more to make the process of radicalization of members of Boko Haram is getting stronger. The purpose of this research is to know and understand the interests of the United States reversed the resolution of Boko Haram in Nigeria. To contribute to the program of study International Relations and Security Defence concentration especially the treasures of knowledge in the subject of International Relations in Africa and US foreign policy. In this study, the authors use qualitative methods. For data collection the authors use the technique literature. Source using the study of literature (library research) using data sources such as books, literature, journals, documents, articles, clippings, newspapers, mass media and the data obtained via the Internet through portals beritaUntuk explain the existing problems, in this thesis the author uses a frame of mind the concept of foreign policy. Based on the research, it was concluded that the United States has three interest in solving the case of Boko Haram in Nigeria, namely the interests of defense, security and economy. Of all US interests in Nigeria, the focus of economic interest for the United States because Nigeria is a country with rich natural resources and potential.
