Abstract

Development of farming through farmer groups is nothing but an effort to target acceleration . Objectives in form of farmer groups is to further enhance and develop the skills of farmers and their families as the subject of agricultural development through a team approach in order to play a greater role in development . Farmer groups is a form of farmer association that serves as a medium of education which is expected to be more focused in changes in farming activity higher again . The method used in this research is descriptive and quantitative methods . Retrieval research area is in the Village Kandangan , District Kandangan , Waterford County . Based on observations , a number of 283 farmers who are not members Gapoktan and a number of farmers who are members in the District gapoktan Kandangan , Waterford there are 210 farmers involved in 7 farmer groups . While the sample in this study are some farmers who are not members of gapoktan the number 38 and some famers who are members of gapoktan the number of people in District 37 Kandangan,Waterford. The results conclude : 1) With the gapoktan , gapoktan can increase rice productivity and to increase the income received by farmers , 2) There are differences in the level of productivity of farmers who are not members Gapoktan with farmers who are members in the village Gapoktan Kandangan , Kandangan District , the District Waterford , and 3) There are differences in the level of income of farmers who are not members Gapoktan with farmers who are members Gapoktan Kandangan village,DistrictKandangan,WaterfordCounty.
