Abstract

PT. Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) adalah perusahaan swasta yang bergerak di bidang pertambangan batubara yang terletak di Kecamatan Sangatta, Kabupaten Kutai Timur, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Sistem penambangan yang digunakan oleh PT. KPC adalah sistem tambang terbuka (surface mining). Kegiatan pengupasan lapisan tanah penutup (topsoil) pada saat ini dilakukan di stockpile pit Bendili. Material hasil pengupasan topsoil tersebut diangkut menuju ke kancil dump dengan menggunakan 1 unit alat muat yaitu backhoe Komatsu PC-750 dan dikombinasikan dengan 6 alat angkut articulated dump truck yaitu : 2 unit Volvo A35E/A35F, 2 unit hungry board A35E/A35F dan 2 unit CAT 740. Jarak angkut terjauh dari stockpile menuju ke kancil dump ± 1.400 meter. Kegiatan Pengupasan topsoil PT. KPC di pit Bendili mengunakan rangkaian kerja alat gali-muat (backhoe) dan alat angkut (articulated dump truck) untuk memindahkan topsoil dari stockpile menuju kancil dump dengan target produksi sebesar 211.000 BCM/bulan (219.792 LCM/bulan). Produksi nyata pengupasan topsoil saat ini hanya 206.625 BCM/bulan (215.234,37 LCM/bulan), sehingga masih kekurangan produksi sebesar 4.375,32 BCM/bulan (4.557,63 LCM/bulan). Upaya yang dilakukan agar target produksi dapat tercapai dengan melakukan perbaikan jalan di stockpile yang rusak dengan cara pengerasan dan pemadatan. Upaya lainnya yaitu dengan melakukan peningkatan terhadap waktu kerja efektif dengan mengurangi hambatan-hambatan yang dapat di hindari sehingga waktu kerja efektif meningkat dan efisiensi kerja alat gali-muat dan alat angkut meningkat pula. Setelah dilakukan perhitungan produksi pengupasan topsoil meningkat untuk alat gali-muat menjadi 274.802,35 BCM/bulan (286.252,45 LCM/bulan) dan alat angkut menjadi 209.425,19 BCM/bulan (218.151,34 LCM/bulan), sehingga target produksi yang diinginkan perusahaan PT. KPC sebesar 211.000 BCM/bulan (219.792 LCM/bulan) belum tercapai. Upaya selanjutnya dengan penambahan jumlah curah dari 4 menjadi 5 curah untuk articulated dump truck yang baknya masih memungkinkan. Perkiraan perhitungan produksi untuk alat angkut setelah penambahan jumlah curah yaitu 233.968,53 BCM/bulan (259.965,03 LCM/bulan), sehingga target produksi tercapai. iv ABSTRACT PT. Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) is a privately held company engaged in the mining of coal in Sangatta, East Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan. The system used by PT KPC is an open mining (surface mining). The activitiy of stripping soil cover (topsoil) at present is done in Bendili pit stockpile. Results of the topsoil stripping material transported headed to the kancil dump by using the unit load tool i.e. backhoe Komatsu PC-750 and combined with 6 tool Articulated dump truck transport: 2 units of Volvo A35E/A35F, 2 units of Hungry board A35E/A35F and 2 units of CAT 740. The farthest transport distance from the stockpile transport heading to the kancil dump is about 1400 metres. Topsoil stripping activity of PT KPC in Bendili’s pit uses dig-fit series work tools (backhoe) and transportation service (articulated dump truck) to move the topsoil from the stockpile to the Kancil dump with production targets is 211.000 BCM/month (219.792 LCM/month). Topsoil striping production is currently only 206.625 BCM/month (215.234,37 LCM/month), so there still 4.375,32 BCM/month (4.557,63 LCM,/month) lack of production. Efforts that have been done in order that the production targets can be achieved by doing roads repair in the stockpile, by compaction and compulsion of road. Other efforts by increased the effective working time by reduce the obstacles that affect the production in order to increased the effective working time so the efficiency of the dig-fit series work tools and the transportation tools increased as well. After calculation the topsoil stripping dig-fit tool increased to 274.802,35 BCM/month (286.252,45 LCM/month) and transportation tools reach 208.425,19 BCM/month (218.151,34 LCM/month), so the production targets at the disposal of the company of 211.000 BCM/month (219.792 LCM/month) has not reached yet. The next effort by addition of precipitation amount to articulated dump truck that the vessel are still possible to be added. Approximate calculation of transportation tools production after addition of the amount of precipitation is 233.968,53 BCM/month (259.965,03 LCM/month), so the production targets are achieved. v
