Abstract
Global warming is a highly serious issue for the entire world. This phenomenon of
rising temperatures is occurring in almost every region, resulting in negative
impacts on environmental sustainability. Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions can
serve as a proxy to assess the state of global warming in a particular area. This
study aims to analyze the effects of total population, industrial value added, and
forest area on global warming in ASEAN from 2013 to 2022. The study uses
secondary data, with greenhouse gas emissions sourced from the Global Carbon
Atlas. Meanwhile, data on total population, industrial value added, and forest area
are obtained from the World Bank. The research sample includes 10 ASEAN
member countries from 2013 to 2022. This study employs panel data regression
analysis using Stata 17 software. The findings reveal that population size and
industrial value added have a positive effect on global warming in ASEAN during
the period of 2013–2022. In contrast, forest area has a negative effect on global
warming in the region during the same period.
