IDENTIFIKASI BY PASSED OIL PADA SUMUR SHUT IN
“WN-07”

Sumur “WN-07” yang berada di Lapangan KMJ, Cekungan Sumatera Tengah,
menunjukkan adanya indikasi keberadaan bypassed oil berdasarkan hasil evaluasi
dari data log, data produksi, sidewall core, dan data perforasi. Keberadaan minyak
yang belum terproduksi ini disebabkan oleh sejumlah faktor, seperti fenomena
water coning, serta ketidak tepatan dalam interpretasi log sebelumnya. Oleh karena
itu, diperlukan estimasi laju alir awal dan pemodelan proyeksi produksi hingga
mencapai batas ekonomi menggunakan pendekatan Decline Curve Analysis (DCA).
Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini melibatkan perhitungan laju alir
awal menggunakan pendekatan Persamaan Darcy dan Productivity Index (PI)
berdasarkan data analog. Estimasi nilai water cut (WC) dilakukan dengan metode
persentil dari data sumur sejenis. Untuk memproyeksikan kinerja produksi,
digunakan metode Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) dengan pemilihan tipe decline
melalui pendekatan trial and error yang divalidasi oleh uji statistik Chi-square
(X²). Analisis dilakukan pada dua skenario, yaitu single production dan commingle
production, untuk mengevaluasi performa produksi dari masing-masing zona
target.
Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai WC pada sand A dalam skenario
produksi tunggal adalah 83% dan sand B sebesar 76%, sedangkan pada skenario
produksi gabungan, nilai WC meningkat menjadi 85%. Nilai laju alir awal dan tipe
decline terbaik diperoleh dari pendekatan hyperbolic dengan nilai parameter decline
yang sesuai. Proyeksi produksi hingga mencapai economic limit memberikan
gambaran bahwa reaktivasi sumur “WN-07” memiliki potensi tambahan produksi
yang layak secara teknis dan operasional, sehingga strategi optimalisasi sumur shut
in dapat dilakukan tanpa perlu pengeboran baru.

The “WN-07” well, located in the KMJ Field within the Central Sumatra Basin,
shows indications of bypassed oil based on the evaluation of log data, production
data, sidewall core, and perforation records. The presence of unproduced oil is
attributed to several factors such as water coning, attic oil, reservoir heterogeneity,
and inaccuracies in previous log interpretations
The methodology applied in this study involves calculating the initial flow rate
using Darcy’s Equation and the Productivity Index (PI) based on analog well data.
The water cut (WC) value is estimated using the percentile method from similar
well data. Production performance forecasting is conducted using the Decline
Curve Analysis (DCA) method, with the decline type determined through a trial
and-error approach validated by the Chi-square (X²) statistical test. The analysis
was conducted under two scenarios: single production and commingle production,
to evaluate the performance of each target zone.
The results show that the average WC in sand A under the single production
scenario is 83% and in sand B is 76%, while in the commingle production scenario,
the WC increases to 85%. The initial flow rate and the best-fitting decline type were
obtained using the hyperbolic decline approach with appropriate parameter values.
The production forecast up to the economic limit indicates that reactivating well
“WN-07” presents a technically and operationally viable opportunity for
additional production, making shut-in well optimization a feasible strategy without
the need for drilling new wells.
