Abstract

ABSTRAK Perbanyakan Mucuna bracteatasangat sulit dilakukan dan memerlukan perlakuan khusus untuk berkecambah. Perlakuan perendaman dengan kalium nitratpada biji mucuna bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kecepatan berkecambahdandaya kecambah. Penelitian inidilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta, pada bulan Mei sampai Juni 2015 menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 16 kombinasi perlakuan, setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Faktor pertama adalah lama perendaman terdiri atas 4 aras, yaitu: (W1) = Lama perendaman 6 jam, (W2) = Lama perendaman 12 jam, (W3) = Lama perendaman 18 jam dan (W4) = Lama perendaman 24 jam. Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi KNO3 terdiri atas empat aras, yaitu: (K0) = Konsentrasi 0 %, (K1) = Konsentrasi 2 %, (K2) = Konsentrasi 4 % dan (K3) = Konsentrasi 6 %. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parameter daya kecambah dan pertumbuhan bibit umur 2 mst terdapat interaksi serta berpengaruh nyata sedangkan konsentrasi KNO3 2% (K1)yang direndam selama 12 jam (W2) memberikan hasil cukup baik pada perkecambahan Mucuna bracteata. Kata kunci : Mucuna bracteata, KNO3 ABSTRAK Bracteata mucuna generative propagation is very difficult and requires special treatment to germinate. Soaking treatment with potassium nitrate in mucuna seed aims to improve germination. This research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture UPN "Veteran " Yogyakarta, in May to June 2015 , using a completely randomized design ( CRD ) 16 combinations of treatments , each treatment was repeated 3 times . The first factor is the long immersion consists of four levels , namely : ( W1 ) = Length of immersion 6 hours , ( W2 ) = Long soaking 12 hours , ( W3 ) = 18 hours and immersion Lama ( W4 ) = Length of immersion 24 hours . The second factor is the concentration of KNO 3 consists of four levels , namely : ( K0 ) = concentration of 0 % , ( K1 ) = concentration of 2 % , ( K2 ) = concentration of 4 % and ( K3 ) = concentration of 6 % . The results showed that there was an interaction between the soaking time with KNO3 . Treatment with a solution of KNO3 soaking time give the best effect on germination percentage , speed of germination , germination , seedling height , number of leaves and stem diameter .
