Abstract
Increasing the need and competition in land use either for agricultural production purposes or other purposes which require careful thought in taking the most profitable use decisions from limited land resources. The successful cultivation of a particular type of crop highly dependent on the cultivar of crop grown. This research aims to assess the suitability of land in cultivation of fruits (citrus and mango) and plantation (clove and cocoa) which is located in Wolofeo village, Detusoko district, Ende, East Nusa Tenggara. The method used in this research are method of land evaluation and method of determining the sample point with Satuan Peta Lahan (SPL) obtained from the result of overlay of map slope, geological map and land use map. Overlay is done by geographic information system. The results of this research show that the altitude is 891 m, most locations have a danger of damage to land (erosion hazard), recesses land ranges from 55-90 cm, surface rock ranges from < 0,01-90%, outcrop is located on the volume <2% - 50%, slope 7-37%. The result of laboratory analysis shows that the element of N is from 0,05-0,20, P from 0,25-13,59, K from 33-417, organic-C level 0,20-2,00 and cation exchange capacity 10,88-26,82. Based on the research results, citrus, mango, clove and cocoa can be classified as marginal class. Keywords : Suitability of land, fruit crop, plantation crop
