Abstract

Central Sumatera Basin is one of sedimentary basin in Indonesia that has
explored and has economic value as a big producer of hydrocarbon in Indonesia. The
amount of exploration and exploitation conducted in Central Sumatera Basin provide
many of core and wireline log data from subsurface which can be used to interpret the
subsurface geological state, especially the facies and depositional environment. Lakat
Formation in terms of nomenclature equivalent to Menggala Formation and Bangko
Formation which is regionally formed during sagging phase of Central Sumatera Basin
with transgressive phase, making this formation dominated with transitional
environment sandstone with the good reservoir quality. Therefore, a comprehensive
subsurface analysis is important thing to do, in order to review the facies and
depositional environment. This research using qualitative analysis of wireline log data
and validated with core data. The analysis result show that "X" Field consist of
sandstone and shale with the facies such as Alluvial Channel, Crevasse Splay dan Flood
Plain from Fluvial environment. There is also Tidal Channel, Tidal Sand Flat, Tidal
Mud Flat, Tidal Sand Bar, and Muddy Shelf, from intertidal estuary depositional
environment. The changes of depositional environment in research area based on core
and wireline log analysis is Fluvial environment that unconformably turn into Estuary
Environment.
