Penelitian secara administratif berada di Desa Katanjung, Kecamatan Kapuas Hulu,
Kabupaten Kapuas, Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah, Indonesia. Berdasarkan fisiografi
Bentuklahan asal denudasional
dengan bentuklahan dataran nyaris (peneplain) (D1), bentuklahan asal fluvial
dengan bentuklahan tubuh sungai (F1), bentuklahan asal struktural dengan
bentuklahan perbukitan struktural bergelombang kuat (S1), perbukitan struktural
2011), Daerah Katanjung termasuk kategori kondisi geologi kompleks.

ABSTRACT
The research is administratively located in Katanjung Village, Kapuas Hulu
District, Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. Based on
regional physiography the research location is in the Barito Basin with coordinates
(UTM coordinate system zone 49S) X1Y1 = 824450, 9900950 and X2Y2 = 827150,
9902550. The purpose of this study is to determine the geology of the study area
and calculate the coal resources of seam A, B and C. The research method used is
geological mapping (surface data) and calculation of coal resources using the
USGS Circular Method (1983). The flow pattern that develops is subdendritic.
Geomorphology in the Katanjung Area is divided into 4 original landforms and 6
landforms. Denudational origin landforms with almost plain(peneplain) landforms
(D1), fluvial origin landforms with river body landforms (F1), structural origin
landforms with strong undulating structural hills (S1), weak undulating structural
hills (S2), structural slopes (S3), and volcanic origin landforms with intrusion hill
landforms (V1). The stratigraphy of the study area when sorted from old to young
is the Tanjung sandstone unit, Tanjung mudstone unit, andesite intrusion unit, and
alluvial deposits unit. The depositional environment of the Tanjung mudstone and
sandstone unit is Delta Plain. Geological structures in the Katanjung area are
reverse faults, normal faults, strike-slip faults, fractures, and cleats. which have a
main northeast - southwest direction that has an effect on forming 2 directions of
rock position, namely with a southwest - northeast and northwest - southeast
orientation. Based on sedimentary and tectonic aspects (SNI-5015, 2011), the
Katanjung area is categorized as a complex geological condition. In the geological
mapping, the thickness of the coal seam that has been corrected withdip is seam A
0,284 m, seam B 1,216 m, seam C West 2,105 m, and seam C East 1,133 m.
Calculation of coal resources using the USGS Circular method (1983) with a coal
density value of 1.25tons/m3, the tonnage of coal resources obtained is measured
295,803,301 tons, indicated 1,052,239,863 tons, and inferred 3,009,257,731 tons.
