Kelurahan Tondangow, Kecamatan Tomohon Selatan, Kota Tomohon, Provinsi
Sulawesi Utara.
Pengambilan sampel air tanah
dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling mengikuti SNI 6989.58-2008 mengenai
Metode Pengambilan Contoh Airtanah. Analisis status mutu air tanah dilakukan
maksimal.

ABSTRACT
Indonesia has the second largest geothermal potential in the world and North
Sulawesi is one of the regions in Indonesia that has geothermal potential. The
geothermal potential in North Sulawesi is utilized directly as the Lahendong
Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) located in Tondangow Subdistrict, South Tomohon
District, Tomohon City, North Sulawesi Province. The drilling activities of production
wells and geothermal water cooling ponds at PLTP Lahendong have the potential for
groundwater pollution that can result from geological activities and human error.
Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim to determine the quality and
status of groundwater quality in the research area, determine the level of groundwater
vulnerability to pollution in the research area, and determine the direction of
groundwater management in the research area.
This research was conducted using a combination method that includes data
collection, population and sampling, analysis and descriptive evaluation. Data
collection methods included surveys and laboratory tests. Groundwater sampling was
collected using purposive sampling method according to SNI 6989.58-2008 on
Groundwater Sampling Method. Groundwater quality status analysis was conducted
using the Pollution Index method and groundwater vulnerability level analysis was
conducted using the DRASTIC method. Management direction is carried out through
three approaches, namely technological approach, social approach, and regulatory
approach.
The results obtained showed that the groundwater quality at three well points in
the research area still reached the quality standard except for the pH parameter with
a value at LP23 of 5.78; LP42 of 5.63; and LP55 of 5.73. The research area has a
groundwater quality status that is categorized as lightly polluted and the level of
groundwater vulnerability is divided into 2 vulnerability level criteria, which are not
vulnerable with a score of 92-98 and a low level of vulnerability with a score of 93-
112. Groundwater treatment directions to increase pH can be done by filtration using
filter media in the form of sand, activated carbon, and zeolit. Groundwater treatment
in the research area requires community and government collaboration in order to
run optimally.
