Abstract

RINGKASAN
REVERSE WATER CONING DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN
METODE DOWNHOLE WATER SINK

Lapangan “SLM” adalah lapangan minyak yang terletak di perairan utara Subang,
Lepas Pantai Utara, Laut Jawa. Lapangan ini memiliki 27 sumur yang telah
berproduksi sejak Juni 1996. Dalam rentang waktu produksi selama 5 tahun,
lapangan “SLM” sudah memproduksi minyak sebesar 10832 MBBL. Sampai saat
ini, hanya terdapat 6 sumur yang masih berproduksi. 21 sumur pada Lapangan
“SLM” dalam kondisi shut in karena produksi air yang berlebih sehingga produksi
minyak tidak optimal. Salah satu penyebab dari produksi air berlebih ini adalah
terjadinya water coning pada sumur “SLM-01” sehingga perlu dilakukan
perbaikan sumur agar produksi minyak dapat lebih optimal.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode downhole
water sink berpotensi untuk mengontrol produksi air pada zona minyak sehingga
dapat meningkatkan kumulatif produksi minyak. Data sumur yang diperoleh
disortir untuk memilih sumur dengan masalah water coning. Studi simulasi
dilakukan pada sumur “SLM-01” dengan prediksi selama 10 tahun. Sumur
“SLM-01” dibuatkan model untuk simulasi reservoir berupa penerapan downhole
water sink dimana air dan minyak diproduksi dengan menggunakan 2 tubing yang
berbeda secara bersamaan. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode ini dilakukan
analisa sensitivitas terhadap laju produksi air pada zona air.
Hasil studi simulasi menunjukkan adanya pengaruh penerapan downhole water
sink pada sumur water coning terhadap besar produksi minyak dan air. Analisa
sensitivitas pada laju pengurasan air yang menghasilkan kumulatif produksi
minyak paling optimum adalah sebesar 20 bbl/day. Sumur dengan downhole
water sink menunjukkan peningkatan kumulatif produksi minyak dari 1195.01 bbl
menjadi 7919.45 bbl. Sedangkan, kumulatif produksi air menurun dari 1704.06
bbl menjadi 1182 bbl.

The "SLM" field is an oil field located in the northern waters of Subang, North
Offshore, Java Sea. The field has 27 wells that have been produced since June
1996. In a production span of 5 years, the "SLM" field has produced oil
amounting to 10832 MBBL. To date, there are only 6 wells still in production. 21
wells in the "SLM" Field are in a shut in condition due to excess water production
so that oil production is not optimal. One of the causes of this excess water
production is the occurrence of water coning in the well “SLM-01” so that it is
necessary to remedy the well so that oil production can be more optimal.
This study aims to show that the application of the downhole water sink method
has the potential to control water production in oil zones so that it can increase
cumulative oil production. The well data obtained is sorted to select wells with
water coning problems. The simulation study was conducted on the well
"SLM-01" with predictions for 10 years. From the selected well, a model for
reservoir simulation is created in the form of the application of a downhole water
sink where water and oil are produced by using different tubing simultaneously.
To determine the effect of this method, a sensitivity analysis was carried out on the
rate of water production in the water zone.
The results of the simulation study show the effect of the application of downhole
water sinks in water coning wells on the amount of oil and water production.
Sensitivity analysis on the water drainage rate that produces the most optimal
cumulative oil production is 20 bbl/day. Wells with downhole water sinks showed
a cumulative increase in oil production from 1195.01 bbl to 7919.45 bbl.
Meanwhile, cumulative water production decreased from 1704.06 bbl to 1182 bbl.
