RINGKASAN
Penelitian dilaksanakan di Pit B1 Sambarata Mine Operation PT Madhani
Talatah Nusantara, Kabupaten Berau, Kalimantan Timur. Saat hujan dengan curah
70 mm saluran terbuka yang berada pada hauling road tidak dapat menampung dan
mengalirkan air sehingga air meluap hingga menggenangi hauling road. Air hujan
yang menggenangi hauling, menyebabkan terhambatnya distribusi batubara dari
run of mine (ROM) ke coal processing plan (CPP). Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini
adalah mengkaji geometri saluran terbuka yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pada area
penelitian dengan dilakukannya analisis curah hujan rencana, penentuan daerah
tangkapan hujan (DTH), menghitung debit air limpasan, merancang geometri
saluran terbuka, dan menganalisis genangan terhadap saluran terbuka hasil
rancangan.
Perhitungan curah hujan rencana menggunakan empat metode distribusi
yaitu normal, log normal, log pierson III, dan Gumbel selama 10 tahun (2013 –
2022), dari keempat metode tersebut diuji menggunakan metode uji chi kuadrat
untuk menentukan metode yang paling sesuai. Hasil dari pengujian tersebut
digunakan metode distribusi gumbell dengan mendapakatkan nilai curah hujan
rencana sebesar 73 mm/hari dan durasi jam hujan rata-rata selama 2 jam. Kemudian
menghitung intensitas curah hujan menggunakan rumus mononobe didapatkan nilai
sebesar 16,01 mm/jam. Penentuan DTH berdasarkan arah aliran air dan elevasi
kemudian diolah menggunakan software ArcGis dan Google Earth Pro
mendapatkan tiga area DTH. Perhitungan debit limpasan menggunakan metode
rasional dan hidrograf satuan sintesis (HSS) nakayasu. Hasil dari perhitungan debit
dari kedua metode tersebut dibandingkan kemudia diambil nakayasu dikarenakan
memiliki hasil nilai debit limpasan lebih tinggi untuk dilakukan perhitungan
rancangan geometri saluran terbuka metode manning dengan pertimbangan worse
cast . Masing-masing debit air limpasan pada DTH secara berurutan yaitu, 6,47
m3/detik, 7,38 m3/detik, dan 10,67 m3/detik.
Dimensi saluran terbuka dirancang menggunakan rumus manning dengan
bentuk trapezium. Setelah menentukan rancangan geometri saluran terbuka,
dilakukan simulasi genangan menggunakan software HEC-RAS untuk validasi
terkait geometri saluran terbuka yang dirancang dapat menampung debit limpasan
hasil perhitungan. Dari hasil penelitian ini, didapatkan bahwa geometri saluran
terbuka aktual perlu dilakukan perbaikan sesuai dengan hasil rancangan yang telah
divalidasi menggunakan HEC-RAS.

SUMMARY
The research was carried out at Pit B1 Sambarata Mine Operation PT
Madhani Talatah Nusantara, Berau Regency, East Kalimantan. When it rains with
a rainfall of 70 mm, the open channel on the hauling road cannot accommodate
and drain the water so the water overflows and floods the hauling road. Rainwater
inundated hauling, causing delays in coal distribution from run of mine (ROM) to
the coal processing plan (CPP). The aim of this research is to examine open
channel geometry according to the needs of the research area by analyzing planned
rainfall, determining rain catchment areas (DTH), calculating runoff water
discharge, designing open channel geometry, and analyzing inundation in the
designed open channel.
Calculation of planned rainfall uses four distribution methods, namely
normal, log normal, log Pierson III, and Gumbel for 10 years (2013 – 2022). The
four methods were tested using the chi square test method to determine the most
appropriate method. The results of this test used the gumbell distribution method to
obtain a planned rainfall value of 73 mm/day and an average rain hour duration of
2 hours. Then calculating the rainfall intensity using the mononobe formula
obtained a value of 16.01 mm/hour. Determination of DTH based on water flow
direction and elevation is then processed using ArcGis and Google Earth Pro
software to obtain three DTH areas. Calculation of runoff discharge uses the
rational method and Nakayasu synthetic unit hydrograph (HSS). The results of the
discharge calculations from the two methods were compared and then taken by
Nakayasu because it had a higher runoff discharge value to calculate the open
channel geometry design using the Manning method with consideration of worse
cast. Each runoff water discharge at DTH is sequentially, namely, 6.47 m3/second,
7.38 m3/second, and 10.67 m3/second.
The dimensions of the open channel are designed using the Manning
formula with a trapezoidal shape. After determining the open channel geometry
design, an inundation simulation was carried out using HEC-RAS software to
validate the open channel geometry which was designed to accommodate the
calculated runoff discharge. From the results of this research, it was found that the
actual open channel geometry needs to be improved in accordance with the design
results that have been validated using HEC-RAS.
