DAN MEDIA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN
MELON (Cucumis melo L.) SISTEM HIDROPONIK SUBSTRAT

ABSTRAK
Pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman melon (Cucumis melo L.) dipengaruhi
oleh ketersediaan unsur hara serta macam media tanam. Penelitian ini
dilakukan untuk menentukan interaksi antara kepekatan larutan dan media
tanam, kepekatan larutan serta media tanam terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan
hasil tanaman melon dengan sistem hidroponik substrat. Penelitian dilakukan
menggunakan greenhouse di Pencar Sari, Sardonoharjo, Ngaglik, Sleman.
Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan April-Juni 2023. Penelitian menggunakan
Rancangan petak Terbagi (Split Plot Design) dengan petak utama yaitu nilai
EC nutrisi terdiri dari tiga taraf yaitu EC (1; 1,7; 2,4 mS/cm), (1,5; 2,2; 2,9
mS/cm), dan (2 ; 2,7; 3,4 mS/cm). Media tanam yang digunakan terdiri dari
tiga taraf yaitu, cocopeat, arang sekam + cocopeat, dan pasir + arang sekam.
Hasil pengamatan dianalisis menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA)
dengan taraf 5% dan menggunakan analisis uji lanjut DMRT dengan taraf 5%.
Perlakuan EC dan media memiliki interaksi yaitu kombinasi nilai EC (2; 2,7;
3,4 mS/cm) dengan media arang sekam + pasir pada parameter bobot buah per
tanaman. Nilai EC (2; 2,7; 3,4 mS/cm) merupakan EC paling baik pada
parameter tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, bobot kering tanaman, dan bobot
buah segar per tanaman. Media cocopeat merupakan media tanam paling baik
pada tinggi tanaman, dan diameter batang.

ABSTRACT
The growth and yield of melon (Cucumis melo L.) is influenced by the
availability of nutrients and the type of growing media. This research was
conducted to determine the interaction between the concentration of the solution
and the planting medium, the concentration of the solution, and the best planting
medium for the growth and yield of melon plants with a substrate hydroponic
system. The research was conducted using a greenhouse in Pencar Sari,
Sardonoharjo, Ngaglik, and Sleman. The research was conducted in April-June
2023. The study used a Split Plot Design with the main plot, namely the EC value
of nutrients consisting of three levels, namely EC (1; 1.7; 2.4 mS/cm), (1.5; 2.2; 2.9
mS/cm), and (2; 2.7; 3.4 mS/cm). The planting medium used consisted of three
levels, namely, cocopeat, husk charcoal + cocopeat, and sand + husk charcoal. The
results of the observations were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with
a level of 5% and using the DMRT advanced test analysis with a level of 5%. EC
and media treatment had an interaction, namely a combination of EC values (2; 2.7;
3.4 mS/cm) and husk charcoal + sand media on fruit weight parameters per plant.
The EC values (2; 2.7; 3.4 mS/cm) were the best for the parameters of plant height,
stem diameter, leaf area, dry weight, and fruit weight per plant. Cocopeat media
was the best planting medium in terms of plant height, and stem diameter.
