INTISARI
Limbah yang dihasilkan dari produksi alkohol disebut limbah cair vinasse.
Karakteristik limbah vinasse memiliki suhu yang tinggi (80oC), memiliki pH asam
(2-4,5), berwarna kehitaman, bau menyengat, dan bersifat korosif. Dalam
memproduksi 1 L Alkohol menghasilkan 15 L limbah cair vinasse. Sebagian limbah
ini diolah sebagai pupuk cair, namun sebagian lagi masih belum terkelola dan
dibuang ke lingkungan dan berakhir di Anak Kali Bedog. Tujuan dari penelitian ini
adalah untuk mengetahui potensi pencemaran airtanah dengan Metode LeGrand,
mengetahui status mutu air tanah dengan Metode Indeks Pencemaran, dan
memberikan rekomendasi arahan pengolahan untuk mendegradasi polutan pada
limbah cair vinasse.
Metode yang digunakan dalam Penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dan kualitatif.
Survei dan pemetaan lapangan dilakukan untuk melengkapi data geofisik kimia.
Dalam pengambilan sampel digunakan Metode Purposive Sampling berdasarkan
pertimbangan jarak sumur dengan irigasi vinasse serta arah alirah airtanah. Metode
laboratorium digunakan untuk mengetahui kualitas air dan melakukan percobaan
pengolahan vinasse skala laboratorium dengan metode Multi Soil Layering. Media
yang digunakan berupa zeolit dan blok yang berisi campuran arang aktif dan tanah
(perbandingan 1: 1) dengan variasi waktu detensi 6, 12, dan 18 jam. Penggunaan
tanah dalam pengolahan MSL didasarkan pada pendekatan tekstur tanah, dalam
penelitian ini menggunakan tekstur tanah geluh lempung pasiran. Data potensi
pencemaran airtanah dengan LeGrand dan status mutu airtanah dengan Indeks
Pencemaran yang diperoleh kemudian dievaluasi dan dianalisis secara deksriptif.
Potensi pencemaran airtanah berdasarkan analisis Metode LeGrand, daerah
penelitian termasuk ke dalam klasifikasi potensi kecil dengan rentang skor 13,1735
hingga 19,927. Hasil analisis status mutu airtanah dengan Metode Indeks
pencemaran, daerah penelitian memiliki 2 kelas pencemaran, yakni tercemar ringan
dengan nilai IP 2,7332-3,3640 dan tercemar sedang dengan nilai IP 5,1088-5,7014.
Rekomendasi arahan pengolahan untuk mengolah limbah cair vinasse adalah dengan
bak Multi Soil Layering (MSL). Berdasarkan hasil uji coba pengolahan vinasse yang
dilakukan dengan skala laboratorium, reaktor MSL bekerja dengan baik dalam
mereduksi bahan organik dan zat polutan pada limbah. Berdasarkan hasil percobaan,
variasi waktu detensi 12 jam memiliki nilai efisiensi yang lebih besar dengan nilai
masing-masing untuk parameter pH, TDS, BOD, dan COD adalah 71,0526 mg/L;
48,7730 mg/L; 82,1429 mg/L; dan 83,1658 mg/L. Untuk mengoptimalkan sistem
pengolahan limbah, ditambahkan unit IPAL lainnya meliputi bak ekualisasi, bak
biofilter anaerob, bak MSL, dan bak aerasi.

Groundwater Pollution Control Due to Liquid Wastevinasse with Multi Soil
Layering in Padukuhan Mrisi, Village of Tirtonirmolo Kapanewon Kasihan,
Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta

ABSTRACT
The waste resulting from the production of alcohol is called liquid vinasse.
Characteristics vinasse has a high temperature (80oC), has an acidic pH (2-4.5), is
black in color, has a pungent odor, and is corrosive. In producing 1 L of alcohol it
produces 15 L of liquid wastevines. Some of this waste is processed as liquid
fertilizer, but some is still not managed and disposed of into the environment and
ends up in the Bedog River. The purpose of this study is to determine the potential for
groundwater contamination with the LeGrand Method, determine the quality status
of groundwater with the Pollution Index Method, and provide recommendations for
treatment directions to degrade pollutants in vinasse.
The method used in this research is quantitative and qualitative. Field
surveys and mapping were carried out to complement chemical geophysical data. In
sampling used Metode Purposive Sampling based on consideration of the distance of
the well with irrigation vinasse as well as the direction of groundwater flow.
Laboratory methods are used to determine water quality and conduct treatment
vinasse laboratory scale by method Multi Soil Layering. The media used were zeolite
and blocks containing a mixture of activated charcoal and soil (1:1 ratio) with
various detention times of 6, 12 and 18 hours. The use of soil in MSL processing is
based on a soil texture approach, in this study using sandy loam loam soil texture.
Data on groundwater contamination potential with LeGrand and groundwater
quality status with Pollution Index obtained were then evaluated and analyzed
descriptively.
Groundwater contamination potential based on the analysis of the LeGrand
Method, the study area is included in the small potential classification with a score
range of 13,1735 to 19,927. The results of the analysis of groundwater quality status
using the Pollution Index Method, the study area has 2 pollution classes, namely
lightly polluted with an IP value of 2,7332-3,3640 and moderately polluted with an
IP value of 5,1088-5,7014. Recommendations for processing directives for treating
liquid vinasse is with behind Multi Soil Layering (MSL). Based on the results of
processing trials vinasse carried out on a laboratory scale, the MSL reactor works
well in reducing organic matter and pollutants in waste. Based on the experimental
results, the 12 hour detention time variation has a greater efficiency value with the
respective values for the parameters pH, TDS, BOD, and COD being 71,0526 mg/L;
48,7730 mg/L; 82,1429 mg/L; and 83,1658 mg/L. To optimize the waste treatment
system, other WWTP units were added including equalization tanks, anaerobic
biofilter tanks, MSL tanks, and aeration tanks.
