Abstract

Administrative research area covers the sub Ibun, Bandung regency. The study area is geographically located at coordinates 107o 47'53'' - 107o 48' 8'' East Longitude to 7o 00' – 7o 02' 10'' South Latitude, with area of ± 14 km2.
Geothermal field Kamojang complex composed by volcanic rocks quarter in the form of lava and pyroclastic rocks.In general lithology has undergone alteration with weak to strong intensity.Laboratory analysis (petrography and XRD) was conducted in detail on the cutting sample wells D-1, D-2, D-3 and D-4 by dividing the lithology of the well at a depth of 1503 mKU (Measure Depth meter).Based on the analysis results obtained 4 lithologies, namely Alluvial Force Base; The units of basaltic andesite, volcanic breccia Chakra; Unit pyroxene andesite, pyroclastic, Pasirjawa basalt and andesite unit pyroxene, pyroclastics, basalt Cibatuipis.Evaluation is based on the analysis results of XRD (X-Ray Diffractometer) done specifically to identify the type of clay minerals, to obtain the alteration zones, mineral formation temperature range, and chemical condition of the fluid.The analysis shows alteration zones in wells D-1, D-2, D-3 and D-4 and its surroundings consist of a chlorite-epidote-calcite zone, the zone of chlorite-smectite-chalcedony-carbonate and kaolin-smectite-silica; or comparable with propylitic, subpropilitik and argillic zone.Mineral formation temperature in the zone of propylitic to subpropilitik ranged 95-227oC with relatively neutral pH and decrease the temperature (<150oC) with acidic pH approaching at a depth of over 450 mKU the argillic alteration zone.

The wells D-1, D-2, D-3 and D-4 and the surrounding areas have steam-dominated system with a geothermal system components in the form of overburden zone at a depth of 0-87 mKU, the zone of the covering layer (cap rock) at a depth of 87-950 mKU, reservoir zones below a depth>900 mKU as well as a heat source which is estimated to be below the reservoir zone (-1778 meters above sea level, or approximately <2 km from the ground surface).
