ABSTRAK
Daerah penelitian secara administratif berada di Desa Bawahan Selan, Kecamatan
Mataraman, Kabupaten Banjar, Kalimantan Selatan. Berdasarkan letak geografis,
sistem Universal Tranfer Mercator (UTM) WGS 84 zona 50s daerah penelitian
terletak pada 3º 15' 13,51" - 3º 15' 59,38" Lintang Selatan dan 144º 58' 50,47" -
144º 59' 30,1" Bujur Timur. Luas daerah penelitian sebesar 1,2 x 1,4 km². Secara
regional daerah penelitian termasuk dalam fisiografi Cekungan Barito. Secara
stratigrafi daerah penelitian masuk dalam Formasi Warukin yang tersusun oleh
batulempung dengan sisipan batubara dan batupasir kuarsa yang menepati
diseluruh bagian dari daerah penelitian.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kondisi geologi daerah penelitian
yang terdiri dari geomorfologi, stratigrafi, struktur geologi yang ada di daerah
penelitian, serta mengetahui karakteristik geometri lapisan batubara yang ada pada
daerah penelitian. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan
pemetaan geologi permukaan dilanjutkan pengolahan data permukaan dan bawah
permukaan.
Geomorfologi daerah penelitian terbagi menjadi lima bentuk lahan yaitu lembah
hasil bukaan tambang, genangan air sisa pertambangan, lahan hasil timbunan
tambang, dataran terdenudasi, perbukitan denudasional. Stratigrafi daerah
penelitian terdiri dari satu satuan batuan tidak resmi yaitu Satuan batulempung
Warukin dengan litologi penyusun batulempung dengan sisipan batubara. Satuan
batulempung Warukin memiliki umur Miosen Tengah – Miosen Akhir (N8-N16).
Satuan ini terendapkan pada lingkungan pengendapan Upper Delta Plain –
Fluvial dengan sub-lingkungan pengendapannya adalah backswamp, dan leve.
Daerah penelitian merupakan bagian dari sayap lipatan dari sinklin yang
diakibatkan oleh pengangkatan Pegunungan Meratus. Terdapat Sesar dengan
pergerakan turun dengan orientasi arah relatif utara – selatan.
Tebal lapisan batubara di daerah penelitian masuk dalam kategori sedang hingga
tebal. Orientasi arah kemenerusan seluruh seam batubara membentang dari timur
laut – barat daya dengan kisaran jurus N220°E-N232°E. Kemiringan lapisan
batubara daerah penelitian berkisar 34°-45° ke arah barat laut.

ABSTRACT
The research area is administratively located in Bawahan Selan Area,
Mataraman Subdistrict, Banjar District, South Kalimantan. Based on the
geographical location, Universal Tranfer Mercator (UTM) system WGS 84 zone
50s the research area is located at 3º 15' 13.51" - 3º 15' 59.38" South latitude and
144º 58' 50.47" - 144º 59' 30.1" East longitude. The study area is 1.2 x 1.4 km².
Regionally, the study area is included in the Barito Basin physiography.
Stratigraphically, the study area is included in the Warukin Formation which is
composed of mudstones with coal inserts and quartz sandstones that occupy all
parts of the study area.
The purpose of this study is to determine the geological conditions of the study
area consisting of geomorphology, stratigraphy, geological structures in the study
area, and to determine the geometry characteristics of the coal seams in the study
area. The research method used is to use surface geological mapping followed by
surface and subsurface data processing.
The geomorphology of the study area is divided into five landforms, namely
valleys from mine openings, puddles of mining waste, mine dumps, denuded
plains, and denudational hills. The stratigraphy of the study area consists of one
unofficial rock unit, namely the Warukin mudstone unit with mudstone lithology
with coal inserts. The Warukin mudstone unit has an age of Middle Miocene -
Late Miocene (N8-N16). This unit was deposited in the Upper Delta Plain -
Fluvial depositional environment with its depositional sub-environment being
backswamp, and leve. The study area is part of the folded wing of the syncline
caused by the uplift of the Meratus Mountains. There is a Fault with downward
movement with a relative north - south orientation.
The thickness of the coal seam in the study area is categorized as medium to thick.
The orientation of the direction of the entire coal seam extends from northeast to
southwest with a range of N220°E-N232°E. The slope of the coal seam in the
study area ranges from 34°-45° to the northwest.
