PROMOTING RHIZOBACTERIA (PGPR) DAN UKURAN UMBI
TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN BAWANG
MERAH (Allium ascalonicum L.)

ABSTRAK
Budidaya bawang merah memerlukan inovasi untuk meningkatkan produksi
dengan aplikasi Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) sebagai sistem
pendukung pertumbuhan serta penggunaan umbi dengan ukuran yang optimal.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya interaksi antara interval waktu
pemberian PGPR dan ukuran umbi terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil bawang merah.
Penelitian dilaksanakan di Maguwoharjo, Depok, Sleman pada bulan Januari–April
2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode percobaan rancangan Split plot. Main
plot adalah interval pemberian PGPR yang terdiri dari tanpa pemberian PGPR, satu
minggu sekali dan dua minggu sekali. Sub plot adalah ukuran umbi yang terdiri dari
umbi kecil (bobot 2,5–4,0 g), umbi sedang (bobot 4,0–5,5 g) dan umbi besar (bobot
5,5–7,0 g). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan metode Analisis Sidik
Ragam (ANOVA) pada taraf 5%, kemudian untuk mengetahui beda nyata
dilanjutkan dengan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada interaksi antara interval waktu pemberian
PGPR dan perlakuan macam ukuran umbi. Interval waktu pemberian PGPR
menunjukkan pengaruh nyata pada parameter diameter umbi per rumpun, bobot
basah umbi per rumpun, bobot kering umbi per rumpun, bobot kering umbi per
petak sampel dan bobot kering umbi per hektar. Ukuran umbi menunjukkan
pengaruh nyata pada seluruh parameter pengamatan.

RHIZOBACTERIA (PGPR) APPLICATION AND BULB SIZES ON
GROWTH AND YIELDS OF SHALLOT PLANT (Allium ascalonicum L.)

ABSTRACT
Cultivation of shallot needs innovation to increase production with Plant Growth
Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) application as growth supporting system and
using bulb with optimum size. This research purposed to detect the interaction
between time intervals of PGPR application and bulb sizes on growth and yields of
shallot plant. The research was conducted in Maguwoharjo, Depok, Sleman on
January–April 2022. The research used a Split plot test method. The main plot was
time intervals of PGPR application consisting of without PGPR, once per week and
once per two weeks. The sub plot was bulb sizes consisting small size of bulb
(weight 2,5–4,0 g), medium size of bulb (weight 4,0–5,5 g) and large size of bulb
(weight 5,5–7,0 g). The obtained data were analyzed using the Analysis of Variance
(ANOVA) at 5% level, then to detect tangible difference continued by Duncan’s
Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% level. The results of research showed that there
was no interaction between time intervals of PGPR application and bulb sizes. Time
intervals of PGPR application showed significant effect on bulb diameter per
clump, bulb wet weight per clump, bulb dry weight per clump, bulb dry weight per
sample plot and bulb dry weight per hectare. Bulb sizes showed significant effect
on all parameters.
