ABSTRAK
CV Bedding Depo merupakan perusahaan yang melayani produksi untuk
perhotelan, rumah sakit, dan lain-lain. Perusahaan ini menyediakan beberapa
produk seperti sprei, sarung bantal, sarung guling, bedcover, matras protector,
bantal protector, serta sarung bantal dobby. Selain produk yang disediakan, CV
Bedding Depo pada area gudangnya juga menyimpan bahan baku kain seperti
kain dobby dan kain katun, serta beberapa macam kemasan seperti tas bedcover,
tas matras protector, tas sprei, karton, serta plastik kemasan. Terdapat beberapa
produk yang tidak dapat disimpan pada rak karena penggunaan rak yang belum
mempertimbangkan volume/jumlah produk serta belum adanya garis batas antar
departemen sehingga pekerja meletakkan barang secara kurang teratur. Kedua hal
tersebut mengakibatkan kendala pada proses material handling karena adanya
barang pada jalur transportasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk
meminimalkan jarak perpindahan material serta memaksimalkan ruang untuk
penyimpanan.
Pemecahan masalah pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode class based
storage yang dilakukan dengan tahapan menghitung rata-rata jumlah barang yang
masuk dan keluar, menghitung kebutuhan ruang penyimpanan, menghitung nilai
throughput, dan menghitung nilai throughput/space requirement. Kemudian
penerapan metode aisle distance untuk menentukan jumlah total jarak
perpindahan material.
Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menyatakan bahwa usulan tata letak
menghasilkan penurunan jarak perpindahan material sebesar 68,80 meter atau
sebesar 1,03% dan pada penataan ulang produk jadi dan kemasan pada rak
diperlukan total 28 rak dari sebelumnya 30 rak serta area untuk penyimpanan kain
sebanyak 7 area.

ABSTRACT
CV Bedding Depo is a company which provide goods for hotel, hospital,
and many more. This company provides products such as bed sheet, pillow cover,
bolster cover, bedcover, mattress protector, pillow protector, and dobby pillow
cover. Besides that products, CV Bedding Depo in their warehouse area also
store raw material such as dobby fabric and cotton fabric, also some packaging
such as bedcover bag, mattress protector bag, bedsheet bag, carton, and plastic.
There are many product which unable to be stored at the shelves because shelves
usage not considered yet by the volume/amount of products, and there is no exact
border which separate departments so many warehouse staff put the product
inorderly. Both problems causes obstacle in material handling process because of
products in the transportation way. This research was carried out in order to
minimize material handling distance and maximizing room for product store.
Problem solving in this research using the class based storage method
which had stages by calculate average product in and out, calculate space
requirement, calculate throughput, and calculate throughput/space requirement.
Aisle distance methode used to calculate total material handling distance.
The results of the research concluded that the new layout results decrease
of material handling distances by 68,80 meters or 1,03% and reordering in
products and packagings store results in necessity for 28 shelves, from before 30
shelves, and storage area for fabric in total are 7 areas.
