Abstract
Larvae of Lepidiota stigma is the most impediment pest in increasing soybean production in dry land areas. Intensive application of insecticides is inefective and also costly. Research was conducted on the mixture of compost and chopped tobaccos stem to determine the larval behavior. Larvae were placed in mixing media with tobaccos concentration 0f 1.25, 2.25, 5.00 and 0%. Position of larvae were recorded daily (24 h) for six days. Analysis of varians and DMRT were done on data. Effect of tobaccos mixture occured since the first day of observation. Larvae significantly moved further in line with increasing of tobaccos concentration and duration of observation. Larvae moved fastest in longest distance at concentration of 5.00%. Effect of tobaccos active substances began to decline at the fourth and fifth day at concentration of 1.25 and 2.5% respectively, as the increase of movement distance was declining. Meanwhile, at concentration of 5.00% effect of tobaccos active substance has not decreased yet up to the sixth day of observation. Protection’s coverage areas of larval atacks were in radius of 4 cm and 16 cm on application of 1.25 and 2.5% tobaccos mixture respectively, while application of 5.00% at a radius over than 36 cm.
