Abstract

As one of the sources of energy, petroleum has many benefits, but petroleum can also pollute the environment by land, water, and air. The resulting pollution can come from oil spills over the activities of drilling, production, refining, and transportation. The purpose of this research was to determine the influence of oil sludge build-up activities towards pollution of the groundater and also to know the quality of groundwater and contaminants research in the area of grondwater. Areas of research lie in Oil Sludge storage facility named N.G#5 Sludge Pond, located in the village of Pandan Jaya subdistrict of Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency Geragai. In this research, the methods used which is There are 4 survey method and Sample Retrieval, methods of Data Analysis, methods of Overlay Map and method of ESA (Environmental Site Assesment). Study Of Environmental Assessment (ESA) focused to identify examples of actual environmental conditions or potential impacts of land and airtanah in the form of crude oil spills or other pollutants in N.G#5 sludge pond. The Data used in the study of environmental assessment of ESA (Environmental Site Assesment) N.G#5 Sludge Pond consists of 2 data, which is primary data and secondary data. Groundwater used in this study was not contaminated as proven with the analysis of the laboratory results where arsenic concentrations <0.01 mg / l, cobalt concentration of 0.06 mg / l, the concentration of Barium (Ba) <0.002 mg / l, the concentration of Cadmium (Cd) <0,022 mg / l, the concentration of chromium (Cr) <0,083 mg / l, the concentration of copper (Cu) <0,018 mg / l, the concentration of nickel (Ni) <0,050 mg / l, the content of Lead (Pb) <0.019 mg / l, concentrations of mercury (Hg) <0.0005 mg / l, the concentration of zinc (Zn) <0.091 mg / l and TPH concentrations <0.05 mg / l. Keywords : pollution, groundwater, heavy metal, Solid waste
