Abstract

Surfactant is a molecule that also has a polar group that likes water (hydrophilic) and a non polar group that likes oil (liphophilic), so that it can unite the mixture consisting of oil and water. Surfactants can be used an emulsifier, cleanser, wetting agent, anti-corrosion agent,medecine and foaming agent. Surfactant is a surface active ingredient, which works to reduce the surface tension of liquid and the interface tension where this active property is obtained from its dual molecular properties. Surfactants can be clasified according to the polar parts of their molecules.
