Abstract

A study by exposing the sandstone reservoir characterization using Acoustic
Impedance Inversion method on “RIZ” field Talang akar Formation, of South
Sumatera Basin. This study uses 2D post-stack seismic data , 1 well data,1 data
checkshot data, 3 data marker, and 3 data horizon. The results of this study are
expected to be able to show the location of the reservoir sandstone with good quality
and allow a place hidrocarbon accumulation. The purpose of this study was to
determine the distribution of reservoir sandstones and define new wells proposed by
acoustic impedance values in the field "RIZ". Data processing begins with inputting
the data well and 2D seismic data, making crossplot, checkshot correction, wavelet
extraction and seismic well tie, picking horizons, initial modeling, analysis,
inversion, phase inversion, slicing map and interpret. Acoustic impedance values in
the field "RIZ" as a potential reservoir of hydrocarbons contained in the reservoir
DST # 2 with acoustic impedance values <30,000 (ft / s) * (g / cc). Distribution of
acoustic impedance values reservoir DST # 2 are in some places and trending
northwest. Proposed new wells located in the middle of the anticline structure
heights are crossed by seismic line 3, trending northeast from the first well and is
approximately 1,38 km from wells GF-08. Estimated depth of reservoir DST # 2 1940
ms, or about 2380 m from msl.
