Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of innovation strategy variable on
operational performance. Data was collected with survey methods, questionnaires were
Results of the research showed the variable of the innovation strategy that consisted of the
orientation of leadership,the process innovation,the product innovation,the source of the
external innovation,the source of the internal innovation,and investment gave the inftuence
that was significant towards the operational performance.Results of this research indicated
that the owner/the manager of small and medium enterprises in the industry of silver in
Yogyakarta oriented in innovation efforts,and used innovation from internal/external source
and always increased investment to innovate so as to be able to increase performance of small
andenterprises.
