Abstract

Banana wilt disease is one of the impedement diseases in banana production. It is coused by Fusarium oxysporum fs. cubesense. It had destroyed most banana production areas in Sumatra and Kalimantan. The aim of this preliminary research was to obtained the mutagenic callus of banana that was resistant to selected media and expected to be resistant to the wilt disease. Research was conducted in three phases: 1) induction of callus, 2) gamma ray irradiation of callus, 3) callus regeneration in cultur media. The most appropriate growth medium formula was MS+2.4D (1mg/L) + NAA (0.1 mg/L)
