Abstract

Poverty alleviation programs and community empowerment programmed by the government since several periods ago proved not all can be successful and in accordance with expectations, the various failures to accompany the implementation of these programs. This is because the empowerment model is done Top Down, from the government to the people with the criteria determined are standard and still not much to study the condition, condition and job of the target community. This research entitled Development of the Poor Community Empowerment Model Using Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) Community-Based Methods In Poor Women's Groups In Srimulyo Piyungan Bantul Yogyakarta Village aims to derive an appropriate community empowerment model based on a criteria approach that is explored directly from the community as Target program. The results of the Participatory Rural Appraisal approach resulted in the village social condition or village map showing the potential, problems, opportunities and strengths of the community to serve as the basis for problem-solving planning, program plans, achievements and joint monitoring. The research directly involves the community in terms of formulating their problems, exploring appropriate solutions, providing training and mentoring the implementation of the formulation of the resulting empowerment model. People are invited to see the local conditions from their own point of view. This raises the hypothesis that citizens will be able to raise the degree of kesehateraan using the way according to their potential and ability.
