Abstract

This research is aimed to determine degradation rate and•persistence pattern of oxyfluorfen in soil by giving varied sources organic mattesr, The research was conducted at the experiment ground of the Center of Research and Jatisari, the District of Karawang, the Province of West Java;with height of 17 meters from the sea level and the soil classified into the order of Entisol. The research was conducted from October 2004 to April 2005.
The experiment was conducted using the Split-plot design. The main plot factors were the organic matters consisted of without organic matters, straw compost, cow manure fertilizer, and water-hyacinth compost. The sub-plot fuctors were the varied herbicides doses consisting of 1 kg ha a..i, 2 kg ha'a..i, and 3 kg haa.i.
The result of this experiment indicated that increased doses of application, increasing herbiside residue and decreased of degradation rate. While the degradation rate of oxyfluorfen in without organic matter, rice straw compost, cow manure compost and water hyacinth compost are 0,0260,0,0236,0,0268, and 0,0265.
The higher the doses of the herbicides application and the higher the C/N matters, with the application of straw compost, cow manure fertilizer, and water hyacinth compost were consecutively 24,8 days, 29,5 days,25,9 days, and 26,2 days.
