Abstract

The programme of making the qualities organic fertilizers derived from waste
livestock cattle were conducted at Sanggrahan and Brayut village, Sleman District,
Regency of Sleman, from May until July 2014. The purpose of this programme was
improving society skill on making organic fertilizershaving quality from waste of
ranch of cattle with Guano Phosfat added and making bioactivator from rumen of
cattle.The methods of programme were : 1) giving counseling to livestock farmers who
merged into group of Livestock Ngudi Makmur and Sumber Ayu about : environmental
contamination problem by waste of cattle livestock, and way of the settlement of
disposal, 2) Training, practice and experiment of making organic fertilizers ( compost)
having quality from waste of ranch of cattle with several doses of Guano Phosfat
added, 3) Traning and practice of making bioactivator from rumen of cattle. The
results of this programme were 1) can improve the society awareness specially group
of farmer of livestock Ngudi Makmur and Sumber Ayu about : a) livestock waste
deriving from cattle become the economic valuable substance in order not to spoil
environment b) Dirt of cattle become the organic manure (compost) which is good for
crop 2) Can improve skilled in making organic fertilizers ( compost) having quality
from dirt of cattle with Guano Phosfat added 3) The yielding of certifiable compost
with the addition of 5% Guano Phosfat andthe characteristic of compost are: dark
brown color, granulous refine, not smell and content of element nutrient namely : C-
Organic 19.68 %, N-Total 1.13 %, P2O5 1.08 %, K2O 1.57 %, C / N 17.41, 4) Can
improve skilled in making bioactivator from rumen of cattle and its product, 5) The
group of livestock farmer was applying compost to the farm as an organic fertilizer
and benefit from increased crop production, 6) Composting of waste of cattle livestock
is a business opportunity, so as to increase the income of livestock.
