Abstract

The research was purposed to: (1) analyze staple food pattern in household level, (2) compare food budged according each pattern,
(3) find out influence between rice and cassava toward food budged and food security system, and (4) analyze factors influence the
diversification of staple food pattern of household level Survey method was incorporated to collect data from 250 samples
interviewed in all sub-district of Gunung Kidul Yogyakarta. The measurement of income, budged and food consumption were carried
out using the systematical random sampling. The result of the research showed there are 3(three) patterns of staple food
consumption i.e: The consumption cassava 2 rice: the consumption cassava « rice: the consumption just only rice respectively. From
three of pattern only first and third pattern that have significant on difference mean in food budged. The influence between
consumption of cassava (Xi) and rice (X2) toward food budged (Y) was tested by multiple regression which is the formula is Y 7
28866 - 1725,356 X1 # 5003,732 X2 # e. It means cassava can be substitution and complement of rice. It were able to provide
economical accessibility to enough food, so real income can be increased and so far can be achieve food security in household level In

the end of the research seeks that influencing factors of diversify of staple food pattern in Gunung Kidul Yogyakarta are hedonic price
and income of household.
