Abstract

Disease control in ornamental chili plants can be treated with environmentallyfriendly mineral oil so as to improve the environment and natural resources. The study aims to determine the planting medium and mineral oils, as well as looking for the interaction between the types ofgrowing media with mineral oil concentration on the growth of ornamental chili plants resistant to aphids. Research is a factorial field experiment in a completely randomized design with three replications 2 factors. The first factor is the treatment of medium composition, consisting offour levels, namely land: cow manure plus the ratio (1: 1), (1:2), (2: 1) and controls. The second factor is the concentration of mineral oil, comprising four levels, namely: control, 0.125% (1.25 mL / L), 0.250% (2.50 mL /L), and 0.500% (5.00 mL / L). Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and to know the difference between the effect of treatment used DMRT at 5% level. The results showed that the soil planting medium: cow manure plus (1: 1) gives the best results on the growth and yield of ornamental chili, giving 0.125% mineral oil best in suppressing aphid attack and combined treatment of soil media: compost plus (1: 1) with mineral oil 0.125% yield fruit number andfruit weight per plant.
