Abstract

Food, poverty, and production areas are interacted and interdependent aspect. These three aspects can produce in boths are positive and negative synergy, so the strategy needs to be creation in the positive direction to support food security programs. Based on the data, 36 million people in Indonesia are in a state of food insecurity and 5.11 million highly food-insecurity. Associated with poverty, food commodities bigger role than the role of non food commodities to the Poverty Line (GK) of 73.6 percent in 2009. While poor people in 2010 amounted to 64.23 percent who live in rural areas. Based on these data, the achievement of food security strategies should ensure the involvement of community participation capacity (aspects of poverty) and spatial (aspect of the production areas. Very specific aspects of the production area in producing food locally (cultural property), so the strategy must also be oriented consumption equal to production. While aspects of the capacity of participation as an effort to shift the paradigm shift from the domination of the government's role in empowering communities closer producing areas For the successful achievement of food security need the right strategy with the creation of institutional participation. Aspect of participation and capacity building aspects of the production areas will accommodate the physical and socio-economic diversity of the community, and encourage the diversification of food on the basis of suitability, availability, sustainability, and local needs
