Abstract
This study examines the concentration pattern of poverty in DIY province that analyzed by Theil Enthrophy index, in this case for all of districts in DIY Province in 2002 - 2010 The results of this study indicate that poverty is highly concentrated in Gunungkidul and Bantul. This study examines too the impact ofeducation, investment and GDP on poverty in DIY Province. The purpose of this research are to analyze
how much influence the variables education, investment and GDP on poverty in DIY Province which is expected to be used as a basis in determining the policies in addressing poverty. The method of analysis used in this research is a method of linear regression analysis of panel data. The results shows that only the education and GDP variable has
negative and significant effect on poverty. The economic growth shows its significant and relatively high influence on the reduction of poor people.
