Abstract

This research covered the experiment of the laboratory and the theoretical analysis. in
order to increase of the oil collection used the injection of water. Furthermore, the mathematical
model of two phase flow was made, one dimension for the process of the swiping of oil with water
in the carbonate rock reservoir. Available parameters were correlated with the physical
characteristics of rock chemistry reservoir and crude oil.
The experiment was carried out in the artificial reservoir used the carbonate rock from
West Ketaling, Jambi with the dimension 12 cm and 15 cm long with the diameter 2,54 cm. In this
case, oil inside reservoir was pushed went out used the injection of water in the certain pressure
and speed: Each interval of specific time, was carried out by the analysis versus percent oil was
picked up. The experiment was stopped if the injection of water could not still push oil wert out
from reservoir. The experiment variation that was carried out covered the salinity of injection
water and reservoir permeability.
Based on results of the laboratory experiment, was done by the testing or the verification of
the model by numerical of smallest sum square of error versus percent oil was taken in various
time by arrange the value of parameters model. The model that was put forward could illustrate
the oil sweep with water. Mathematical model parameters that were received covered the ratio of
the mobility (M), the constant of the water fraction (m, and n,), critical water saturation after the
oil migration (Swe), and residual oil saturation after water flooding (Sor). Furthermore, by using
the mathematical model that was put forward was accompanied by the value of parameters that
was received, then the amount of oil recovery could be estimated.
