Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of innovation strategy variable on operational performance. Data was collected with survey methods, questionnaires were distributed to 15 companies . Then, data was analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Results of the research showed the variab le of the innovation strategy that consisted of the orientation of leadership, the process innovation, the product innovation, the source of the external innovation, the source of the internal innovation, and investment gave the influence that was significant towards the operational performance. Results of this research indicated that the owner/the manager of small and medium enterprises in the industry of silver in Yogyakarta oriented in innovation efforts, and used innovation from internal/eternal source and always increased investment to innovate so as to be able to increase performance of small and enterprises.
