ABSTRAK
PT Bengkulu Sawit Lestari merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang
pengolahan kelapa sawit menjadi Crude Palm Oil (CPO), Palm Kernel (PK) dan
produk sampingan berupa cangkang serta abu janjang kelapa sawit. Dalam proses
produksi pengolahan CPO, PT Bengkulu Sawit Lestari mengalami permasalahan
terhadap Oil losses pada CPO diatas ketetapan standar perusahaan atau lebih dari
1,2% saat proses produksi di stasiun kerja sterilizer/perebusan. Proses perebusan
kelapa sawit yang optimal dipengaruhi oleh waktu, suhu perebusan, dan tekanan.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kondisi proses perebusan kelapa sawit
yang optimal untuk meminimalkan Oil losses pada CPO dengan menggunakan
Desain Eksparimen metode Taguchi.
Untuk menentukan setting level dan faktor kondisi waktu, suhu perebusan,
dan tekanan yang optimal digunakan metode Taguchi pada penelitian ini. Pada
penelitian ini terdapat tiga faktor dengan masing-masing faktor terdiri dari tiga
level. Berdasarkan dari perhitungan derajad kebebasan penelitian ini menggunakan
matriks ortogonal L9(34
). Target dari penelitian ini yaitu termasuk karakteristik
Smaller-the better. Selanjutnya hasil penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan
Analisis varians.
Hasil perhitungan dengan metode Taguchi didapatkan nilai rata-rata dan
nilai Signal Nois to Rasio menunjukan setting level dan faktor kondisi perebusan
kelapa sawit yang optimal yaitu waktu 90 menit, suhu perebusan 120oC, dan tekanan
3 kg/cm2
. Kondisi proses perebusan tersebut mengkasilkan Oil losses CPO rata�rata sebesar 0,7550% On Tandan Buah Segar (TBS). Oli losses CPO pada bulan
Maret 2022 rata-rata sebesar 1,2604% On TBS. Sehingga kondisi proses tersebut
dapat menurukan Oil losses pada CPO sebesar 0,5054% On TBS. Berdasarkan hasil
Analisis varians menunjukan bahwa faktor tekanan memiliki pengaruh yang
signifikan terhadap kondisi proses perebusan kelapa sawit yang optimal dengan
persen kontribusi nilai rata-rata sebesar 67,5634% dan persen kontribusi nilai
Signal Nois to Rasio sebesar 72,9707%. Tingkat keberhasilan dari penelitian ini
yaitu didapatkan kondisi proses perebusan kelapa sawit yang optimal, akan tetapi
penelitian ini masih belum mempertimbangkan interaksi antar faktor. Dengan
demikian untuk meminimalkan Oli losses CPO yang terjadi pada jangjang kelapa
sawit tercapai.

ABSTRACT
PT Bengkulu Sawit Lestari is a company engaged in the processing of palm
oil into Crude Palm Oil (CPO), Palm Kernel (PK) and by-products in the form of
shells and ash of palm oil bunches. In the CPO processing production process, PT
Bengkulu Sawit Lestari experienced problems with oil losses in CPO above the
company's standard provisions or more than 1.2% during the production process
at the sterilizer/boiling work station. The optimal boiling process for oil palm is
influenced by time, boiling temperature, and pressure. This study aims to determine
the optimal conditions for the boiling process of oil palm to minimize oil losses in
CPO using the Taguchi Experimental Design method.
To determine the setting level and the optimal conditions for time, boiling
temperature, and pressure, the Taguchi method was used in this study. On this
research there is 3 factors that each of them are divided to 3 levels. Based on the
degrees of freedom calculation this research used the ortogonal matrix L9(34
). This
research target included the Smaller-the better characteristics. And then the results
will get analyzed with varians analysis.
The results of calculations using the Taguchi method obtained the average
value and the value of Signal Nois to Ratio indicating the setting level and optimal
conditions for boiling oil palm, namely 90 minutes, boiling temperature of 120oC,
and pressure of 3 kg/cm2. The boiling process conditions resulted in an average
CPO oil loss of 0.7550% On Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB). CPO oil losses in March
2022 averaged 1.2604% On FFB. So that the process conditions can reduce oil
losses in CPO by 0.5054% On FFB. Based on the results of the analysis of variance,
it shows that the pressure factor has a significant influence on the optimal
conditions of the palm oil boiling process with an average percent contribution of
67.5634% and a percentage contribution of the Signal Nois to Ratio value of
72.9707%. The success rate of this research is to obtain optimal conditions for the
boiling process of palm oil, but this research has not considered the interactions
between factors. Thus to minimize the loss of CPO oil that occurs during the palm
oil period is reached.
