Abstract
The aimed of this study are (1) to identify the primary activities can create value added of Product; (2) to identify the supporting activities can push effort to increase value added and the last objective (3) is to identify core competency of SME Bantul’s Batik based on Value Chain Analysis. Data collection methods use in this study is triangulations method, consist of observation, documentation and interview with stakeholders have focus on empoweringSME ‘s Batik in Wukirsari, Trimulyo n Triharjo on Bantul Province. The result shown: (1) marketing and sales activities as primary activities have the highest activity to create value added and (2) and the procurement activity as secondary activities to improve value added with empowering SME,s Batik to produce natural colouring pasta by themself; (3) based on the value chain analysis, core competencies that can be the basis for competitive advantage in SME’s Batik in Bantul are the speed and the craftmen’s ability in the process of making batik specially on stage nyanting skill that is note to easy be imitated by other SME’s Batik.
