Abstract

ABSTRACT
Manure from livestock are the problems that need to be considered. Pig
livestock manure such as feces, urine, and the rest of the food is directly discharged to
the ground without previous management which could potentially affect groundwater
quality. The study was conducted in the village of Trimurti, Srandakan, Bantul. The
research objective was to determine the effect of waste produced pig farms to ground
water and determine the content of contaminants in groundwater due to the pig farm
waste.
The method used is survey method, laboratory testing, and an index of
pollution. The sampling technique used was purposive random sampling with 5 point
observation. 1 is an upstream area observation point that has not been affected by
livestock waste, point 2, 3, and 4 is an area where there are a lot of pig farms, point 5
is the area after the pig farm. Observation point is determined by the direction of
groundwater flow. The parameters used in this study were pH, BOD, ammonia and
Escherichia Coli.
Based on the research that has been conducted shows that the status of the
groundwater quality at observation points 1 and 5 in lightly polluted conditions, while
at the observation point 2, 3, and 4 in a state that is contaminated. This is because the
value of E. coli at the observation point still exceed the quality standards set by
Regulation No. 82 of 2001 Value of E. coli on the TP 1 of 230 MPN / 100ml, TP 2
2400 MPN / 100ml, TP 3 2400 MPN / 100ml, TP 4 2400 MPN / 100ml, TP 5 of 325
MPN / 100ml. From these data we can conclude pig farm waste affect groundwater
quality in the study area.

INTISARI
diperhatikan. Limbah hewan peternakan babi berupa feses, air kencing, dan sisa
makanan ternak langsung dibuang ke tanah tanpa adanya pengelolaan terlebih dahulu
sehingga berpotensi mempengaruhi kualitas airtanah. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa
Trimurti, Kecamatan Srandakan, Kabupaten Bantul.
ditetapkan PP Nomor 82 Tahun 2001. Nilai E. Coli pada TP 1 sebesar 230 mpn/100ml,
TP 2 sebesar 2400 mpn/100ml, TP 3 sebesar 2400 mpn/100ml, TP 4 sebesar 2400
mpn/100ml, TP 5 sebesar 325 mpn/100ml.
