Abstract

The requirements of computer network especially connection of computer network in an institution is very important. Institution that apply a computer based information system must have good network infrastructure. When the connection is down the all application will not run very well. Currently UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta using ring topology. Along with the increase in users, data and hardware technologies require redesign of the computer network infrastructure by considering some of the existing problems. Design and development of computer network infrastructure with modern campus network is one of the alternative solutions that could be done at this time. Cisco provides an overview of the fundamental system design using three layers, namely core, distribution and access. These three layers are interconnected with the role and scope of each layer. With a three-tier arrangement in accordance with the Cisco system, the expected quality of computer networks UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta is getting better. Results from this study is a topology map of the development of a new computer network infrastructure in accordance with the master plan Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta.
