Abstract

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine the meaning of profit for vegetable
farmers and to determine the management and optimization of profits by vegetable
farmers. This type of research is qualitative. This study used informants from
farmers in the Lahan Pasir Vegetable Farmer Group, Srigading Village,
Kapanewon Sanden, Bantul Regency. The data source uses primary data, namely
data obtained directly from informants (farmers). The data analysis technique used
in this study is the Miles and Huberman model. This study is important to find out
the views of farmers about what profit is and how to manage that profit, so it is
hoped that it can add references to profit theory and strengthen existing profit
theory.
Farmers in the Lahan Pasir Vegetable Farmer Group, Srigading Village,
view profit as money obtained from the harvest after deducting all production costs
(buying seeds, fertilizer/medicine, labor, facilities and infrastructure). And the
statement is in accordance with the theory of profit in accounting. Farmers in the
Srigading Village Vegetable Farmer Group have also innovated by applying the
intercropping method in their agriculture so as to maximize their profits. In
addition, those who interpret the profits they get by managing these profits for their
daily life and society are grateful, and partly to be turned back as capital in farming
in the next planting season.
