RESPON PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN SELADA MERAH
(Lactuca sativa L.) TERHADAP KONSENTRASI NUTRISI AB MIX DAN
MACAM MEDIA TANAM SECARA HIDROPONIK SISTEM NFT

ABSTRAK
Permintaan selada pada umumnya semakin meningkat dan jumlah produksi
selada setiap tahunnya semakin bertambah, hal ini karena semakin meningkatnya
jumlah penduduk. Salah satu usaha untuk meningkatkan mutu dan hasil tanaman
selada adalah dengan menggunakan metode hidroponik. Sistem hidroponik menjadi
solusi alternatif untuk meningkatkan hasil yang optimal dalam pemenuhan
kebutuhan nutrisi dan pemanfaatan sumberdaya lahan. Pengelolaan nutrisi tanaman
menjadi kunci keberhasilan teknik budidaya sehingga perlu dikaji konsentrasi
nutrisi dan macam jenis media tanam yang dapat mendukung penyerapan nutrisi
oleh tanaman pada sistem hidroponik. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengkaji interaksi
antara konsentrasi larutan nutrisi AB Mix dan media, mengetahui konsentrasi
larutan nutrisi AB Mix dan media tanam yang paling baik untuk pertumbuhan dan
hasil selada merah. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Petak Terbagi (Split
Plot Design). Petak Utama (main plot) yaitu konsentrasi Nutrisi AB Mix (700, 1000
dan 1300 ppm) dan Anak Petak (sub plot) yaitu media tanam (rockwool dan spons).
Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan diuji
lanjut dengan Uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) pada taraf 5%. Tidak terdapat
interaksi antara perlakuan konsentrasi nutrisi AB Mix dan macam media tanam
tanaman selada pada hidroponik sistem NFT (Nutrient Film Technique).
Konsentrasi nutrisi AB Mix 1300 ppm memberikan hasil paling baik pada
parameter volume akar, bobot segar tajuk, bobot segar akar, bobot ekonomis, bobot
kering akar dan rasio tajuk akar. Media tanam rockwool memberikan hasil paling
baik pada parameter jumlah daun, tinggi tanaman, bobot segar tajuk, bobot segar
akar, bobot ekonomis, dan rasio tajuk akar.

(Lactuca sativa L.) TO THE CONCENTRATION OF AB MIX NUTRITION
AND VARIOUS PLANTING USING HYDROPONIC NFT

ABSTRACT
The demand of lettuce in general is increasing and the amount of lettuce
production is increasing every year, this is due to the increasing population. One of
the attempt to improve the quality and yield of lettuce is to use the hydroponic
method. The hydroponic system is an alternative solution to improve the quality
and quantity of lettuce plants that are efficient in meeting nutritional needs and land
resource utilization. Management of plant nutrients is the key to the success of
cultivation technique so it is necessary to assess the concentration of nutrients and
various planting media that can support the absorption of nutrients by plants in the
hydroponic system. The purpose of the study is to examine the interaction between
AB Mix nutrient solution concentration and media, knowing the concentration of
AB Mix nutrient solution and the planting media that is best for the growth and
yield of red lettuce. The used method is a split plot design. The main plot is the
concentration of AB Mix nutrition (700, 1000, and 1300 ppm) and the sub plot is
planting media (rockwool and sponge). The data were analyzed with Analysis of
Variance (ANOVA) and further tested with the Least Significance Different (LSD)
at the level of 5%. There is no interaction between AB Mix nutrient concentration
treatment and the type of lettuce plant planting media in the hydroponic Nutrient
Film Technique (NFT) system. AB Mix nutrient concentration of 1300 ppm
provides the best result on root volume parameter, header fresh weight, root fresh
weight, economical weight, root dry weight and root crown ration. The rockwool
planting media gives the best result on parameter number of leaves, plant height,
fresh weight of header, fresh weight of root, economical weight, and root header
ratio.
