Abstract

ABSTRAK
Indonesia merupakan negara yang menganut sistem demokrasi, ditandai dengan
adanya kebebasan berpendapat yang dimiliki oleh setiap warga negaranya. Video
DPR-Musikal produksi SkinnyIndonesian24 merupakan contoh kebebasan
berpendapat dalam bentuk kritik sosial. Video DPR-Musikal mengangkat realita
yang terjadi dalam pemerintahan mengenai kinerja Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat
(DPR) Republik Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah metode
kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis resepsi model encoding/decoding Stuart
Hall. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam terhadap
delapan orang informan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat tiga posisi sudut
pandang narasumber yaitu dominan, negosiasi, dan oposisi. Latar belakang,
pengalaman hidup, pendidikan, serta domisili yang berbeda, mempengaruhi
narasumber dalam melakukan penerimaan terhadap isi pesan dalam video. Empat
narasumber dalam posisi dominan sepakat dengan preferred reading yang dibuat
oleh SkinnyIndonesian24, yaitu video DPR-Musikal menggambarkan kritik sosial
kepada Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR) serta masyarakat Indonesia sesuai
dengan kondisi yang terjadi saat ini. Dua informan berada pada posisi negosiasi,
yaitu mereka beranggapan bahwa permasalahan yang terjadi pada DPR
dikarenakan adanya sistem budaya yang telah terbentuk di dalam lembaga DPR
serta media massa yang terlalu menggiring opini masyarakat Indonesia. Dua
informan berada pada posisi oposisi, dikarenakan mereka merasa video DPR�Musikal tidak berimbang serta menolak beberapa adegan-adegan tertentu yang
dirasa tidak sesuai dengan realita yang terjadi di dalam Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat
Republik Indonesia.

ABSTRACT
Indonesia is a country that adheres to a democratic system, marked by the
existence of freedom of opinion that is owned by every citizen. The DPR-Musical
video produced by SkinnyIndonesian24 is an example of freedom of expression in
the form of social criticism. The DPR-Musical video raises the reality that is
happening in the government regarding the performance of The House of
Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR). The research method used is
a qualitative method with a reception analysis approach to Stuart Hall's
encoding/decoding model. The data collection method used in-depth interviews
with eight informants. The results of the study indicate that there are three
positions of the informant's point of view, namely dominant, negotiation, and
opposition. Different backgrounds, life experiences, education, and domicile,
influence the informant in accepting the content of the message in the video. Four
informants in a dominant position agreed with SkinnyIndonesian24's preferred
reading, namely the DPR-Musical video describing social criticism of the House
of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR) and the Indonesian people
in accordance with current conditions. Two informants are in a negotiating
position, that they think that the problems that occur in the DPR are due to the
cultural system that has been formed within the DPR institution and the mass
media which is too biased towards the opinion of the Indonesian people. Two
informants are in an opposition position, because they feel that the DPR-Musical
video is unbalanced and reject certain scenes that are deemed inconsistent with
the reality that is happening in the House of Representatives of the Republic of
Indonesia.
